03.01.2008 At newyears eve we stayed in Gilsárteigur in east Iceland. There we took a look at the horses at that farm, but now there are only six horses. This fall the two oldest horses were put down, Dagur (age 28) and Perla (age 20). Sibba claims that Dagur was the last offspring from Stjarni frá Bóluhjáleigu in Iceland, but if you know better you can leave a note. The horse Dagur was an absolute genious, he was usable for everything and most people could ride him. Sibba started her horsemanship at young age by riding Dagur, and entered her first competition with him. Dagur was totally healthy untill his last day, although his moves had become rather stiff. The horses in Gilsárteigur looked very good when we took a look at them. The 3 year old Grána frá Gilsárteigi, a daughter of Gustur frá Hóli is the one that we think is the most promising horse in that group. | ![]() |
